CureFest for Childhood Cancer in Washington DC 2018

September 15, 2018

Swirls spent another incredible, memorable, and inspiring weekend in Washington, D.C. at CureFest for Childhood Cancer 2018.

CureFest for Childhood Cancer is an organization with a mission to make Childhood Cancer Research a National Priority and to raise awareness that pediatric cancer research is worth more than just 4% funding. We had an incredible time at our 2nd CureFest and got to meet so many members of our Facebook family in person!!

It was such a special weekend and one of our favorite weekends of the year. From Saturdays Rally at the Capital, The Night of Golden Lights & Lighting the White House Gold, to Sunday’s Main Event, being surrounded by hundreds of foundations doing everyday amazing work, seeing the beautiful performers, and hearing the stories of survivors, siblings, and parents of angels.

It was a weekend filled with remembrance, love, hope, determination, and fight. 2018 has been a pivotal year for Childhood Cancer, with the passing of the STAR and RACE Acts, the Gabriella Miller Kids First Act, and funding for Pediatric Brain Cancers and the Peer-Reviewed Adolescent/Young Adult and Pediatric Cancer Research Program.

We are motivated and determined to continue to raise awareness and funding through Swirls Around the World. We made so many new connections and lifelong friendships this weekend. This is for all the warriors and angels.
